Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative Inc. Announces 2025 JMEC Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Hernandez, N.M. — The Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative (JMEC) Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 JMEC Foundation Scholarships, awarded to outstanding high school seniors across JMEC’s service area. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, community involvement, and the promise of future success.

This year’s JMEC Foundation Scholarship recipients are:

Espanola Valley High School (EVHS):
Damian Gallegos, Isaiah Aguino, Santana Martinez, Samantha Sanchez, Leandro Salazar, Isaiah Guinn, Matthew Martinez, Gabriela Abeyta, Alicia Chavez, Ezerie Rae Villalobos, and Hailey Renteria

Pojoaque Valley High School (PVHS):
Veronica Dominguez, Bernardo Montoya, Stephanie Romero, Matias Tiede, Lilah Herrera, and Alan Padilla

Jemez Valley High School (JVHS):
Riley Aragon, Myalyn Madalyn, and Leylana Medina

Los Alamos High School (LAHS):
Shantel Sanchez, Anna Lopez Valdez, David Vigil, and Sofia Grace Trujillo

McCurdy Charter School:
Kenidie Esquibel Garcia

Coronado High School:
Amirah Smith and Matthew Imler Jacquez

Tierra Encantada Charter School:

Cuba High School:
Madison Elwell

In addition, JMEC is pleased to recognize the recipients of two scholarships:

  • The 2025 Tri-State Scholarship was awarded to Brianna E. Martinez Chavira.
  • The 2025 Basin Electric Scholarship was awarded to Zecharias Espinoza.

JMEC congratulates all the 2025 scholarship recipients for their hard work and dedication. The cooperative remains committed to supporting the educational goals of students within its communities.

Students graduating in 2026 are encouraged to apply for next year’s JMEC Foundation Scholarships. Details and application information will be available early next year at www.jemezcoop.org.
